The early work on Bubble Gum all took place in Holland, but under the care of two different breeders, each with a distinct and unique vision. Bubble Gum is the only inbred strain they offer, and is exceptionally uniform in growth and effects. Serious Seeds added Sativa genes to the mix, specifically using plants from Mexico and Colombia. TH Seeds crossed their Bubble Gum with more Indica lines, and ended up with an Indica dominant strain. While the exact heritage of the original Bubble Gum plants is not certain, most agree that the dominant parent is an Afghan Indica. The breeders at TH Seeds and Serious Seeds proceeded to spend a lot of time breeding, crossing, inbreeding and refining the strains that they would later release as Bubble Gum. He gave three different phenotypes of his sweet tasting strain to three different growers: Adam, of TH Seeds, Simon of Serious Seeds and Tony of Sagarmatha Seeds. The first plants came from a grower in Indiana in the 80’s. Like a surprising number of famous strains, including Sour Diesel and Northern Lights, Bubble Gum has its original origins in the states. This is a great smoke for easing pain, anxiety and tension without totally knocking you out. Your body will feel completely relaxed but not couch-locked.
